I received my master’s in social work from Boise State University in 2016 and I am licensed as a Clinical Social Work Associate (CSWA) in Oregon. I have a unique background centered on public service, health, and healing, including work with:
I've had the privilege of supporting diverse individuals through various life experiences. Inclusion and cultural humility are core values of my practice, where people of all identities and backgrounds—regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, age, national origin, abilities, veteran status, marital status, class, or body types—are welcomed, can feel safe, and are valued.
Outside of Root + Veil, you’ll find me listening to hundreds of hours of music a year, hiking through mossy forests of the PNW, enjoying immersive art experiences, vibing at my favorite live concerts, and adventuring with my loved ones. I also enjoy photography, cooking, singing, dancing, swimming, beaches, weight training, great restaurants, rain, and renaissance festivals.
I provide services both in-person and online. I offer a free 15-minute consultation to introduce myself, learn more about what support you are looking for, and answer questions you may have. I provide the following services:
Please visit our Services page for more detailed information about each service.
Anxiety, depression, life transitions, women's issues, trauma, boundaries, parenting support, body image issues, grief/loss, and shifting sense of identity. Specialized experience working with Health at Every Size principles, pregnancy and birth issues; individuals experiencing the complexities of the Newborn Intensive Care Unit or children’s hospital; caregivers and families navigating the foster care and adoption systems; individuals and families resettled in the US as refugees; psychedelic experience integration; and adapting to changes in social class.
While I am trained in and draw from several therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing (MI), I specialize in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
ACT is an evidence-based approach that encourages clients to accept their thoughts and feelings rather than fighting or suffering with them. It focuses on challenging unhelpful thoughts and beliefs while helping individuals explore their values and live in alignment with them. ACT also combines mindfulness strategies with commitment to behavior change techniques, fostering self-compassion and psychological flexibility.
To honor the unique and changing needs of individuals, each session begins with a check-in to collaboratively process any pressing concerns or topics you have. At times, we also engage in guided activities designed to support learning and applying ACT techniques in your daily life. This personalized approach ensures that therapy is both relevant and effective, helping you navigate your journey toward a more fulfilling and value-driven life.
I am accepting new clients as of 9/16/2024.
